When I started painting this picture, the world was peaceful and many innocent people were still alive. Then the war started, I put down the brush and re-imagined the picture. I call the new painting "The Sacrifice of the Mothers" because war is when one mother's child kills another mother's child. Under the Emperor's high throne, it is always full of nameless victims.
